The Wyandotte Youth Assistance Program is a community based program sponsored by the City of Wyandotte with some additional funding through Wayne County Department of Child and Family Services, and local community organizations' contributions.
This juvenile diversion program serves not just as an intervention for youth ages 7-16, but also as a prevention program. The Wyandotte Youth Assistance is always looking for volunteers to mentor our children. If you are someone you know is willing to make a commitment to the program by sharing an hour or so of your time once a week for a period of six weeks. You must be at least 21 years of age or older with a good driving record. All mentors must meet screening requirements and qualifications, and will be trained at no cost. A few hours a week could make a tremendous difference in the life of a child.
Please contact the Youth Assistance Office to apply.
