Many people with limited income seek help from tax preparers who may charge high fees and offer predatory anticipation loans that reduce the amount of their tax refund. Your volunteer work will help people keep over $300 in their pockets. You can volunteer at one of our more than 16 free tax preparation sites in Wayne County . You can become an IRS Certified Tax Preparer, a Financial Coach, or volunteer in other capacities.
We offer two training tracks, Tax Preparer and Financial Coach. The Tax Preparer’s training begins October 26, 2010. You will learn the nuts& bolts of preparing taxes. The Financial coach training begins November 18, 2010. See attached flyers (2) for more details about training location and times. I have also attached a Volunteer Application to complete and return before class begins.
