A program called Off The Streets, which is run by Matrix Human Services, is providing homeless Detroit teenagers a place to stay.
The house holds 10 children, ranging from 12 to 17 years old. Most participate in the Off The Streets program for 21 days. Some are referred by their schools or families, while others find it on their own.
"A place like this is important for kids because if there weren't places like off the streets, then kids would be on the streets selling weed, doing drugs, fighting," said Teresa Edwards, one of the directors of Off The Streets."It wouldn't be a good lifestyle".
