Accounting Aid Society Offers Expert, Quality Tax Help for Free
At 26 Locations Throughout Southeast Michigan

Tax help for free -- never a fee -- is available from Accounting Aid Society at 26 locationsthroughout Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Livingston counties.

Eligibility is based on annual household income, regardless of age, and is for families making less than $50,000 a year and individuals with incomes under $25,000.

Services include federal, state and local returns, property tax credit/renter's rebate, home heating credit, and other eligible credits such as earned income and child tax credits. Through e-filing and direct deposit, clients can get their refunds the fastest and safest way possible without paying for high-cost "rapid refund" loans.

Accounting Aid Society served almost 17,300 Michigan households last tax season and helped them receive more than $21million in refunds and credits. In this waythenonprofitagency helps families stay in their homes, keep their utilities turned on, put food on the table, and save for the future.

 

Below is a complete list of Accounting Aid's tax sites available for the 2011 tax season through mid-April. Some sites operate on a walk-in, first come first served basis, while others are by appointment only. The agency also offers a homebound program for seniors and those physically unable to go to a tax site.


After the main tax season, Accounting Aid's five year-round centers help with back taxes,
amended returns, IRS notices and other related concerns.
