The Faith Communities Coalition on Foster Care is a branch of the Save Our Children Coalition Project at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, a collaboration of organizations and community volunteers who work to support and enrich the lives of children and families in foster care. The Faith Communities Coalition on Foster Care is a major initiative of the Coalition's outreach endeavors.
We seek to enlist faith based community support and work with congregations of all faiths throughout the metropolitan Detroit area. Our goal is to create a wider safety net to help recruit, support and contribute in large and small ways to the well-being of foster children and families.
Regional groups are formed and typically meet bi-monthly. Anyone with an interest in working together with faith communities to improve the lives of children and families in foster care is welcome to attend meetings and no RSVP is necessary. See below for upcoming meetings, news and events at a group near you.
