Camp College
Camp College is an interactive and informative college planning workshop for high school students from underrepresented and underserved populations, which would be especially helpful to foster youth or soon-to-age out foster youth. The purpose of the program is to encourage students to begin considering and preparing for post-secondary eduction.
The committee consists of volunteers from various MACAC schools around the state and the program is held in a different Michigan metropolitan area in May of each year (Detroit, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Flint/Saginaw, or Grand Rapids). Topics covered at the workshop include academic preparation (for two and four year colleges), visiting schools, financial aid, application issues, the admissions process and student life. The workshop is free for all attendees.
