1. Does the Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS) pay you to take care of:
* Your grandchild, niece, nephew, brother or sister?
* A friend or neighbor’s child in the child’s home?
2. Is the child an infant or toddler (up to 36 months old)?
3. Is the child’s behavior hard to handle or do you have any worries about the child?
If so, check out the Child Care Enhancement Program (CCEP)! CCEP offers you three
ways to get answers to your questions about the child’s behavior.
1. You can talk with a CCEP team member over the phone. You don’t even need to identify
yourself.
2. You can get together with others who also are taking care of young children. Share ideas
about discipline, handling feelings, and getting along with others.
3. You can join A Circle of Caring team member and the child’s parents to determine what is causing the child’s problem behavior. We can give some simple ideas to help the child
succeed and will not label or diagnose.
